Sea Moss Gel

Plantz & Soul (21).png

I’m sure you scroll down your social media timelines and see a lot of posts on sea moss. What is sea moss? It’s an algae or seaweed that grows in the water. It’s low in calories and contains a small amount of protein. Sea moss is used for its health benefits and is a source of a variety of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Sea moss is known to promote natural weight loss, help you build body muscle, and help build your immune system. I take a tablespoon of sea moss gel and put it my water or juice. It’s pretty easy to make sea moss gel on your own. Check out my recipe below.

INGREDIENTS 🌱

Sea Moss Gel

1 package of sea moss
Spring water

DIRECTIONS 🥄

- Rinse your sea moss thoroughly with spring water.

- Soak the sea moss in a bowl of spring water for at least 6 hours. You will see it expand and it will make double the original size so make small portions. Do not refrigerate while soaking.

- After you soak your sea moss, drain the water that was in the bowl.

- Add sea moss and a little spring water into blender and blend for 2-3 minutes. The sea moss gel should be liquidy, but thick.

- Pour your sea moss gel into a glass jar with a lid on top. You can use it right away or refrigerate. I usually keep my sea moss gel for 2 weeks, but it can last longer.

Burro Banana Fries

Plantz & Soul (20).png

Have you tried burro bananas? The burro banana is closest to the original banana! They have very tiny seeds which is a good thing, because they haven’t been genetically altered. You can fry, bake, and even eat them raw. You can also eat them savory or sweet. So what are some health benefits of burro bananas? They can prevent constipation, promote bone health, and treat arthritis. You can find them at some ethnic food markets. Check out my recipe below!

INGREDIENTS

4-5 burro bananas
2-3 tablespoons of grapeseed oil

SEASONING

1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
1 teaspoon of salt
1 tablespoon of paprika
1/4 teaspoon of onion powder.

DIRECTIONS 🥄

- Peel the burro bananas and slice them into thin horizontal strips.

- In a bowl add the ingredients for the seasoning, the grapeseed oil, and add the burro strips. Toss them well to combine.

- Turn the air fryer oven on to 425 or bake the burro bananas in the oven at the same temperature.

- Lay the burro banana strips on the air fryer pan. Make sure they are not touching the other strips. I like to put half a sheet of parchment paper on the pan before laying the strips down.

- Air fry/bake for 20 minutes and turn the strips over. Air fry or bake for another 10 minutes and check the fries. You may want to leave them on a little longer if you want them extra crispy. Yields 4 servings.
